Biography
Ryan LO is an international womenswear fashion designer.
LO had run his London-based independent label for the past decade. A fixture in the British fashion scene, his design aesthetic has been synonymous with modern romance, femininity and timeless silhouettes that intertwine with a touch of whimsical elegance.
Hailing from Hong Kong, the Chinese-British designer often draws inspiration from high-low pop culture from East and West, as well as millennial nostalgic references.
Signature creations encompass playful prints in flou, intricate daytime separates and effortless cool party dresses. The label had counted Net-a-Porter, Dover Street Market and Moda Operandi among its international stockists.
Having graduated from London College of Fashion, LO was selected by Lulu Kennedy MBE for her ‘Fashion East’ London Fashion Week line-up and had later been awarded British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN chaired by Sarah Mower OBE.
LO was also a Semi-finalist for the 2nd edition of the LVMH prize. (That same year as Virgil Abloh, Demna Gvasalia and Jacquemus)
Past creative collaborators include industry legendary Sam McKnight MBE and Stephen Jones OBE, and influential rising talents of his generation from Isamaya Ffrench to Susie Lau (Susie Bubble) to name a few.
LO’s dreamy designs have been worn by young Hollywood actresses such as Elle Fanning, Lily James, Kiko Mizuhara and many more.
His work has also been featured in The New York Times, Dazed & Confused, i-D, LOVE, VOGUE and many more. Past collaborations include Google Pixel, Sanrio Hello Kitty and milliner Stephen Jones & Noel Stewart.
